My research aims to understand how and when multiple memory systems interact to facilitate learning, memory, and decision-making in humans. A comprehensive investigation of these issues requires an integrative, multi-method approach: To this end, I combine behavioral experimentation, functional neuroimaging, and studies in neuropsychological populations. This approach allows me to examine the mechanisms associated with learning and memory functions in the brain and behavior, their interactions with other neural processes, and the ways in which they change with learning and development.
